Flower Power

Recycling plastic bottles is taking off here (at last!). You can now find recycle "bins" like this all over Tel Aviv. The slogan on the right basically says: Israel is now much more beautiful thanks to recycling.

Recycling has arrived in Israel? It begs the question: "Where did these bottles go before you adopted recycling?" Was it litter on the streets?

I love recycling! (the second best thing after drinking off something else that wouldn't need recycling, of course)

You made my day!

superbe cette boite de recyclage, cela doit pousser les gens à venir y deposer leurs bouteilles. cela change de nos poubelles vertes et tres laides. tres bonne idee

there superb this limps of recycling, that must push people to come to deposit their bottles. that changes our green and very ugly dustbins. very good idea

What an attractive recycling bin. Where I live in England we have special household recycling bins. There's a little piece about it in one of my old posts.....

Would you mind if I copied your photo and put it on my post tomorrow on my gardening blog...a lot of my other English visitors will be interested to see how attractive this public recycling bin is...I shall of course link back to you in my post.

Very nice shot and cool recycling bin. It is nice to see that there are people out there that want to keep our planet clean.

What makes it unusual and probably more effective is that you can see the bottles. It's not an eclosed box like all the ones I know. This way might be more ugly, but it's 'in-your-face', so you can't forget to use it, or claim you don't know what it's for. That's smart!

Decorative recycling bin...much better than an ugly, overflowing trash can!

Recycling bins are usually sooo ugly, at least this one is kinda funky.

A very novel idea, I think it will make the people more aware and interest them in throwing garbage in bins...well captured shot!

I have "flower power" on my blog too.... but it's not to do with recycling! What a great looking recycling bin, I wish we had them here in Canada.

Hi, amazing how we are amazed by this topic! It's great that you adopted a recycling program.
My state, Rhode Island, refuses to reguire a deposit on bottles & cans. Thankfully, we are so small that a short drive will take you to Connecticut or Massachusetts where you can get five cents for every can or bottle. So, alot of people drive around - or walk around - to pick up the "litter" & make some spare change.
